"War Horse" (2011)

War Horse is a 2011 American war drama film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay written by Lee Hall and Richard Curtis, adapted from Michael Morpurgo's 1982 novel of the same name. The story is set before and during World War I and tells about the journey of a Bay Thoroughbred horse, named Joey, who was raised by the British teenager Albert, but is bought by the British Army, which leads him to encounter many individuals and owners throughout Europe, while experiencing the tragedies of the war happening around him. While the setting and several camera shots are simply stunning and totally worth being mentioned, the plot made me cry rivers and I would not watch it again. Nevertheless, I can only recommend this drama. It´s a worthy use of your spare time and clearly shows that humans aren´t the only ones to mourn during a war. But don´t forget the tissues.

"How To Fall In Love" - Cecelia Ahern

“Christine Rose is crossing the Ha´penny Bridge in Dublin late one night when she sees a stranger, Adam, poised to jump. Desperate to help, she talks him into a reckless deal: if he gives her two weeks – until his 35 th birthday – she´ll prove life is worth living. But as the clock ticks and the two of them embark on late-night escapades and romantic adventures, what Christine has really promised seems impossible …” Cecelia Ahern´s books are always a pleasure to read. And so was this. Christine and Adam – two characters, wonderfully portrayed. The plot is kind of heartbreaking, lovely, to cry for. What I loved about this book is that I kind of knew how it will end, but in between where so many scenes that made me doubt my thinking. This is a book that teaches the reader how to fall in love with life and to hold onto it because as bad as it seems at the moment – you never know what the future has in store for you. Go on. Read it. And you´ll understand what I mean.
