Description
Anastasia
Steele literally falls into Christian´s life when she stumbles into his office
to interview him for a college newspaper. He instantly finds her fascinating
and has to see her again. But does she feel the same? And how will she cope
with his lifestyle – excitement, dominance, submission, bondage?
“Fifty
Shades of Grey” but all from Christian´s point of view.
The
Characters
Christian
Grey is wealthy, head of his own firm, usually gets what he wants. Oh, and he
is a Dominant, currently looking for a Submissive. He feels things he´s never
felt before when he is with Ana. I think he is pretty arrogant and won´t easily
accept a no.
Anastasia
Steele is innocent and falls for Christian Grey. She promises him to try living
like he likes it, but she isn´t a natural born Submissive. She is headstrong
and likes to refuse what she doesn´t like.
My
Opinion
This is
the first book of the series that I´ve read and I have to say that I don´t
understand the hype. I don´t like Christian at all. Okay, his backstory is
pretty harsh, and I feel sorry for him. But I don´t like him. He is too
possessive and has no patience. I mean: Ana needs some space to think about
everything and visits her Mum. And what does he do: he follows her and shags
her, so that she will say yes to being his Submissive. Why? Like that´s not
manipulation. Or take this: he realizes that he loves her and doesn´t want to
lose her, but he won´t give up the Dom/Sub thing for her. Apparently, he
doesn´t love her enough. If I was Ana, I would´ve fled ASAP!
Admittedly,
I thought it kinda sweet that he tried to do “more”, introduce her to his
parents, take her soaring and such. But apart from that – huge bag of nope.
And to
be honest, – and yes, I know that´s kind of the point of the book – there were
too many sex scenes for me. I get it – you two like shagging. No need to show
that every 30 pages! And Christian in the end is just … ugh, I can´t, he´s so
awful. Why would you like him?
*big
sigh*
However,
it was an easy read and not the worst book I´ve ever read. And yes, I still
want to know how the story continues, so I´ll definitely read “Darker” as well.
